Hilary MurphyHilary Murphy

Hilary is a nurse by profession and came to a living faith in Jesus at St John’s. She has always had a heart for the marginalised and underprivileged and after serving God in our church and paying 2 visits to the orphanage at Bethany in Tanzania she felt called into full time ministry. Hilary trained at St John’s Nottingham and served a curacy at Holy Trinity Blackpool. In October 2008 she went out to South Africa to serve God in Bloemfontein, a link dioceses with Blackburn. She works at the Cathedral there but her main emphasis is on serving the people in the townships and trying to build links with the people who have so much and those in the townships who sometimes have no more than a tin shelter to live in. Hilary has found a massive divide there between cultures but she has found great faith amongst people who have so little. She has a close association with both a children’s and an adult hospice there. Each month we receive a prayer letter from Hilary

AIMAfrica Inland Mission

With over 100 years experience, AIM International is an evangelical, interdenominational organisation with the goal of seeing ‘Christ-centred churches among all African peoples.’ Africa Inland Mission has over 930 people working in over 20 countries in Africa, all sharing the same goal of reaching out to those who have never heard the gospel. To date, over four million people worship in churches founded through the work of AIM and that work continues. However, we have a heart for African people, and that’s why our work isn’t restricted to the African continent but includes reaching Africans in the UK and Europe as well

Bible NetworkThe Bible Network

God has called us to provide His Word around the world to bring people into relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. We provide Scriptures to the right people, in the right language, in the right way, at the right cost, with the right partners and for the right results

Christian AidChristian Aid

Christian Aid is a Christian organisation that insists the world can and must be swiftly changed to one where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. We work globally for profound change that eradicates the causes of poverty, striving to achieve equality, dignity and freedom for all, regardless of faith or nationality. We are part of a wider movement for social justice. We provide urgent, practical and effective assistance where need is great, tackling the effects of poverty as well as its root causes

CMSChurch Mission Society

CMS is committed to evangelistic mission, working to see our world transformed by the love of Jesus. We look forward to the day when the whole of creation is restored to a living, loving relationship with God. We believe that by making disciples, resourcing leaders and transforming communities we make our unique contribution to God’s mission. We do this as a community that shares a longing to see all peoples being drawn into fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ

MAFMission Aviation Fellowship

Mission Aviation Fellowship is a Christian organisation. Our mission is to operate light aircraft in remote places where flying is not a luxury, but a real lifeline. Every three minutes one of our planes takes off or lands somewhere in the world. On board are dedicated teams bringing medical care, supplies and Christian hope to communities struggling to survive amidst poverty, conflict or natural disaster. Flying across deserts, jungles, swamps and mountains, we reach places that might otherwise remain cut-off because of impassable or non-existent roads

EdenThe Message (Eden Community Partnerships)

Eden’s mandate is to go to the most challenging urban areas and share God’s life-changing love incarnationally in word and action. Eden teams choose to live in these communities, sharing the problems of those growing up there and ministering to their needs. To date, The Message has planted ten Eden partnerships, involving around 300 people becoming ‘downwardly mobile’ and moving into Greater Manchester’s statistically toughest communities

Soul SurvivorSoul Survivor

Soul Survivor runs events to help people get to know and follow Jesus better. We’ve been going since 1993 and since then bases have sprung up around the world. Our events are about seeking to equip ourselves and others to worship God and follow Jesus with our whole lives. We’re not about hype, but hope to learn and grow from relevant and biblical teaching and through the gifts of the Holy Spirit

TearfundTearfund

Tearfund – planting hope, growing futures – ‘The church can do more for a struggling African village than any other organisation, because it is with the people all of the time. Organisations come and visit, but the church is here not only on Sunday, but every day of the week.’ Pastor Harry, Fombe village church, Malawi
